The Benefits of Tagging
Aaron Brazell has written a guest post on leveraging tagging for you blog over on Problogger and it has prompted me to post about some observations that I have made recently.
I have been using simple tags and pinging Technorati on several blogs heavily since the beginning of the year and the traffic that I receive from Technorati is significant. I should note that the traffic coming from Technorati doesn’t click on adds nearly as much as traffic from search engines, however, the rate at which I get backlinks on blogs that get a lot of traffic from Technorati is significantly higher than on sites that don’t. More backlinks, of course, means better search engine placements and thus more traffic from search engines.
In addition to Technorati I am going to start tagging posts on Del.icio.us, Furl, and Digg to see if I get similar results but would love to hear how these other tagging sites work for you.

Hi
You mentioned about people clicking on ads.
How does that apply to this blog and your another blog called “33blog” where there is no ads.
Thanks.February 26th, 2006 at 3:18 pm -

Nis,
I’m not saying that I won’t put ads on Bloggerpreneur, however, ads on blogs about blogging generally do horrible. I don’t have near enough traffic here to even warrant the time it would take to integrate them in. As traffic goes up and I start getting more visitors from search engines i may revisit the idea of ads on Bloggerpreneur.
As for 33dollars on the other hand. That was one of many projects that I’ve started but, for whatever reason, didn’t stick with it. I have continued to develop the pro blog being referred to on 33dollars though and some revenue has started to trickle in. I really should go and update that site.

Hi, linking your posts on Furl.net (note the URL, the .com one you used is something else) is a great way to raise attention to them. Adding bookmark buttons at the end of your posts (see, for example, http://blog.visionstudio.com/2005/12/05.html) also makes it easy for your readers to bookmark them also and in turn give them even greater visibility. Best of luck with the blog,
