Google’s Knol - A Useful Resource Or A Spammers Haven?
Google today launched Knol which appears to be a Wikipedia / Squidoo type service where authors can publish articles on specific topics that can be edited by others, however, require the original authors permission to do so. Authors can also monetize their articles in a revenue share agreement with Google.
At first glance, Knol looks like it will become a great place to find useful information on an ever growing range of topics. You can already find articles ranging from autism to toilet repair. I wonder, however, how long it will be before spammers flock to Knol as another place to list all of their useless links.
From what I can tell from the articles already written, Knol has “DoFollow” links out to third party resources. If this will be the case for new articles I suggest you take a look at Knol as soon as you can as it will be ridden with Spam, oh, lets say, by this afternoon.
